In cooperation with the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) and many other partners, the World Committee for Lifelong Learning will host the 7th World Forum for Lifelong Learning from 7 to 9 March 2023 at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in Alexandria.  

Under the theme ‘Health education for all, today and tomorrow’, the forum will bring together a wide range of representatives from government, civil society and academia.

They will discuss how lifelong learning contributes to tackling global challenges and will consider new ways of ensuring that quality learning opportunities contribute to health for citizens across the globe. Conference discussions will be captured in a declaration to be adopted at the end of the Forum.  

As an introduction to the conference theme, UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education, Stefania Giannini, will share UNESCO’s ongoing work in relation to health education, while UIL Director David Atchoarena will speak about lifelong learning for health at the local level, on 7 March 2023. UIL is also co-organizing two workshops, focused on education for health for women and girls, and lifelong learning and education at the local level, both on Wednesday 8 March 2023 (additional details included in the programme).
